TAKE ACTION: Urge your legislators to support the Handy amendment

 Rep. Art Handy will introduce an amendment to the civil unions legislation that would grant full marriage rights, recognition and protections to same-sex couples.

 TELL YOUR LEGISLATORS THAT CIVIL UNIONS AREN'T ENOUGH

 Loving and committed same-sex couples in Rhode Island need and deserve the critical protections and safety net that marriage-- and  only marriage-- will provide. Couples who are already doing the work of marriage in their day-to-day lives and have made a  commitment to one another have waited long enough to have participate in the responsibilities and protections of marriage.

 We won't stop working until the state of Rhode Island has brought an end to marriage discrimination against gay and lesbian  couples. Contact your legislators now and urge them to support the Handy amendment to ensure that all Rhode Island families  are treated fairly.
